1. Privacy at a glance

General information

The following notes give a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified.

Data collection on this website

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You will find their contact details in the imprint of this website.

How do we collect your data?
Some data is collected because you provide it to us. Other data is recorded automatically, or after your consent, by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is primarily technical data (for example browser, operating system or time of the page request).

What do we use your data for?
Part of the data is collected to ensure the website is delivered without errors. All calculations in this suite run exclusively in your browser — no input data is transmitted to a server.

2. Hosting and technical infrastructure

This website is hosted by an external service provider (the host). Personal data collected on this website is stored on the host's servers. This may include IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contract data, contact details, names, website accesses and other data generated through a website.

The host is used in the interest of secure, fast and efficient provision of the online offering by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31 FADP).

3. Controller and mandatory information

Responsible person

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Reto Pontoni
Elfenweg 3, 8472 Seuzach, Switzerland
Email: info@marketing-rechner.com

Data protection

The operator takes the protection of your personal data seriously. Personal data is treated confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection provisions (GDPR, revised Swiss FADP) as well as this privacy policy.

Retention period

Unless a more specific retention period is stated within this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or withdraw consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless other legally permissible grounds for storing it exist.

4. Data collection on this website

Cookies

This website partly uses third-party cookies in order to provide external services (such as advertising). In addition, technically necessary cookies may be used which are required for the operation of the website. These cookies are set without your consent and cannot be deactivated, as the website would otherwise not function.

Server log files

The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in what are known as server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. These are: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31 FADP.

5. Google AdSense & advertising

This website uses Google AdSense, a service for embedding advertisements operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). The legal basis for processing personal data of users from the EU/EEA is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy.

Google AdSense uses so-called cookies as well as web beacons (invisible graphics). These technologies allow information such as visitor traffic on these pages to be analysed. Third parties, including Google, use these cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this or other websites.

The information generated by cookies and web beacons about your use of this website (including your IP address) and the delivery of advertising formats is transmitted to a Google server and stored there. Google may pass this information on to its contractual partners.

Objection (opt-out): You can deactivate personalised advertising by Google via Google's ad settings. Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies for personalised advertising by third parties at www.aboutads.info.

6. Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics 4 makes it possible to analyse how this website is used and to improve the offering continuously.

IP anonymisation

IP anonymisation is enabled by default in Google Analytics 4. Your IP address is truncated by Google within the European Union or the European Economic Area before being transmitted to Google servers, so that direct identification of a person is ruled out.

Legal basis and consent

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure reach. Collection currently begins when the page is loaded; a consent banner is in preparation and will be introduced before advertisements are served. You can object to collection at any time — through your browser's cookie settings, using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or by message to the address given in the imprint.

Data transfer and processing on our behalf

The data collected by GA4 (including anonymised IP address, pages viewed, time on page, device information) is transmitted to Google servers in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of data protection for these transfers.

Withdrawing consent: You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your cookie settings via the cookie banner on this site. Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy.

7. Use of local storage

To make this website easier to use, we make use of your browser's local storage. Data is stored purely locally on your device.

In this local storage we keep the figures you enter into our calculators (such as gross margin, average order value and conversion rate). This serves the sole purpose of pre-filling those values for you when you move between the different calculators and cockpits on this website, so that you do not have to enter them again.

The data remains entirely on your device and is at no point transmitted to our servers or to third parties. Storage takes place on the basis of our legitimate interest in a user-friendly design of our online offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / FADP).

You can delete the contents of local storage at any time via your browser's security settings, or prevent storage entirely by disabling cookies and local storage in your browser.

8. Your rights as a data subject

You have the following rights towards the operator in respect of your personal data:

  • Right of access – you may request information about the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR / Art. 25 FADP).
  • Right to rectification – you may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR / Art. 32 FADP).
  • Right to erasure – you may request deletion of your data, provided no statutory retention obligation applies (Art. 17 GDPR / Art. 32 FADP).
  • Right to restriction – you may request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR).
  • Right to data portability – you may receive your data in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR).
  • Right to object – you may object to the processing of your data at any time (Art. 21 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) (www.edoeb.admin.ch).
